    Vazar Dash 3 Conversion Kit Components:

    The VAZAR Conversion Kit consists of all components necessary to install and operate the PT6A-135 series turbine engine on the DHC-3 Otter aircraft. The kit includes fuel system, propeller, oil cooler, inlet heater, starter/generator, battery source, electrical Interface, cabin heat system, engine cowlings, controls, and all other associated instruments and hardware.

    SYSTEM CHANGES

    Nakina Air, Nakina Ontario
    Fuel System Fuel transfers from forward and aft tanks to Interconnected center tanks by ejector pump. Two electric fuel Dumps installed.
    Fuel tanks: remain unchanged.
    Fuel types: Jet A, JetA-1, Jet B, JP5. (aviation gas may be used for 50 hours between overhauls.)
    Heater: replaced with a Janitrol let fuel heating unit (Model 23E62).
    Propeller: 3-blade Hartzell (HC-B3TN-3DY/T 10282) with pitch lock pins, full reversing capabilities.
    Battery Source: is replaced with two 24-volt lead acid enclosed manifold type AN3150-2 or M318045-42.
    Electrical System: is modified to accommodate the new installation.
    Hydraulics: accommodate flap cylinder and flap travel changes, otherwise remains unchanged.
    Center Of Gravity: remains the same as on the standard otter as does the weight and balance.
    Firewall: remains in same position.
    Oil System: as turbine engine is a wet sump unit. Does not require oil supply tank. Removed and replaced with new type oil cooler.

    Antarctic Expedition At South Pole

    Airframe: some modifications to controls, flap travel changed.
    Instruments: engine instruments only changed. Propeller and Ng tachometer torque meter and new 3-in-1-engine instrument installed.
