Turbine Otter News
Vazar announces the completion of its 80th Turbine Otter Conversion Kit in 2006.
In 2006 Vazar has sold six Turbine Otter Conversion Kits.
The success of the Vazar Turbine Otter is a result of nearly twenty years of service in the field and the placement of Vazar Turbine Otters Conversion Kits on DH3 Dehavilland Otters all over the world from the South Pacific Islands, (Pacific Islands Seaplanes) to BC, (Whistler Air) to Alaska and the Arctic (K2 Aviation) to Northern Ontario (Wabakimi Air) to Europe (Helsinki Finland Skydiving Service) to the South Pole.
Years of service, hundreds of thousands hours of airframe engines and millions of miles flown have proved the benefit of the unusual amount of airframe testing that Vazar invested in its conversion before receiving certification in the United States (1988) and Canadian (1989).
The reliability of the conversion and the cost saving and maintenance saving advantages offered by the Pratt and Whitney PT6 engine, over other turbine engines, have made the Vazar Kit the conversion of choice (especially on floats and in cold weather) by scheduled carriers and fleet operators like Kenmore Air in Seattle and Harbour Air in Victoria Harbour BC.
